Day 1 / 7
Symi
1
Day 1

RhodesSymi

Starting your journey at Rhodes, where crusaders' stories and mediaeval walls set the scene, Sail to Symi, a postcard-perfect harbor where ochre and peach blushing neoclassical homes abound. Climb the 500 steps to Panormitis Monastery, whose bells resound over blue seas, then feast on symian shrimp at a riverside bara as the sun sets behind the hills. Arriving early will help you to avoid the noon boat throngs.

Things to do

Walk up the Kali Strata steps at sunset

Boat trip to Panormitis Monastery

Lunch swim at Nanou Bay

Tiny Symian shrimp at a quayside taverna

Buy a sponge from a local diver

Mooring tip

Stern-to in Yialos harbour (free, fills before 13:00 in July–August). Drop bow anchor — clear bottom but watch for old chains. Pedi Bay is the calmer overflow anchorage.

Nisyros
2
Day 2

SymiNisyros (Pali)

Glide to Nisyros, an island still under ground disturbance. Trekking into the Stefanos Crater, its sulfur vents screaming like dragons, then meander Mandraki's cobbled paths lined with cobalt-domed churches. Then sip soumada, or almond drink, under a vine-draped pergola after soaking in the hot springs of Loutra. Don't miss: Snag a jar from a local stand; the volcanic soil of the island produces the most fragrant capers from Aegean.

Things to do

Walk down into the Stefanos crater

Soak in the Loutra thermal springs

Photograph cobalt domes in Mandraki

Buy capers from a Nikia village stall

Sundowner soumada under a pergola

Mooring tip

Pali fishing port has a small quay (free, lazy lines patchy) — quieter than crowded Mandraki. Anchor in Pachia Ammos bay (8 m sand) as backup. All exposed to W swell.

Kos
3
Day 3

NisyrosKos

Sail to Kos, the Hippocrates birthplace. After cycling the Asklepion, historic ruins where medicine started, immerse into Therma Beach's hot springs. Join residents of Kos Town under a 2,400-year-old plane tree late at night for kleftiko, slow-roasted lamb. Pro tip: See secret coves around Alykes Salt Lake by renting an e-bike.

Things to do

Cycle the ancient Asklepion ruins

Soak in the Therma Beach hot springs

Dinner under the 2,400-year-old plane tree

E-bike to coves on Alykes Salt Lake

Provisioning supermarket run

Mooring tip

Kos Marina has lazy lines, fuel, water, electricity — full facilities. Town quay is free but exposed to NW. Marina is a 15-min walk from old town.

Tilos
4
Day 4

KosTilos

Anchor at Tilos, a green haven run totally on solar energy. Trekking to the Monastery of Agios Panteleimonas, wild peacocks prance among olive gardens. Savoring mizithra cheese drizzled with thyme honey, dine in Mikro Chorio, a ghost town rebuilt as a taverna-lit haven. Eco-win: Toast with organic wine—Tilos is the first zero-waste island in Greece.

Things to do

Hike to Agios Panteleimonas Monastery

Photograph wild peacocks among olives

Mikro Chorio ghost-village dinner

Mizithra cheese with thyme honey

Toast with solar-powered local wine

Mooring tip

Stern-to on Livadia town quay (free, very small — limited slots). Anchor in Eristos Bay as backup (8–10 m sand). Both exposed to S; round to Plaka if SW kicks.

Chalki
5
Day 5

TilosChalki

Sail to Chalki free of cars, where donkeys still walk cobblestones. After swimming in the neon-blue waters of Snorkel Pontamos Cove, ascend to the Knights' Castle for sunset views of Turkey's coast. At Taverna Giorgos, the harbour lights sparkle like fireflies while you feast on pougia, sun-dried octopus. Local secret: From Yiannis' backstreet distillery, get a jar of souma (fig spirit).

Things to do

Snorkel the clear water at Pontamos Cove

Hike to the Knights' Castle for sunset

Sun-dried octopus at Taverna Giorgos

Walk the abandoned village of Chorio

Try a jar of souma (fig spirit)

Mooring tip

Stern-to in Emborios harbour (free, small — get in before 16:00). Lazy lines uneven; bring stern anchor as backup. Open to NW swell, sheltered from meltemi.

Lindos
6
Day 6

ChalkiRhodes (Lindos)

Go back to Rhodes via Lindos, where a hill of whitewashed anarchy sits atop an ancient city crown. Trek the donkey road to the Temple of Athena, then cool yourself in St. Paul's Bay, a crescent of aquamarine flanked by rocks. Dine on melekouni, sesame-honey bars, under a rooftop taverna while the Aegean breeze dances through your hair. Steer clear of crowds. See the city first thing in morning; gates open at eight AM.

Things to do

Hike the donkey road to the Acropolis

Anchor & swim in St Paul's Bay

Sesame-honey melekouni at a rooftop taverna

Photograph the Acropolis at first light

Wander the white-cube village lanes

Mooring tip

Anchor on sand in St Paul's Bay (5–8 m, good holding, crowded by day). Lindos main bay also possible but rolly. No quay; avoid overnight if SE forecast.

Rhodes
7
Day 7

RhodesRhodes

Say goodbye in mediaeval Old Town of Rhodes. From a street vendor, grab last koulouria—sesame rings—then walk the Street of the Knights, where Gothic arches speak of Crusader glory. Last bite: Brunch under Byzantine walls at Marco Polo Café, a secret garden offering pitaroudia (chickpea fritters). Though not farewell, the charm of the Aegean clings like salt on your skin.

Things to do

Last koulouria run from an Old Town vendor

Walk the Street of the Knights one more time

Brunch at Marco Polo Café

Inventory check with the base manager

Taxi to Rhodes International Airport
