Day 1

Skiathos MarinaSkopelos

Starting your journey at Skiathos, the marina hums with activity. Fly to Skopelos, the Sporades' "Green Queen." Drop anchor in Pine Forest-framed turquoise cove Stafylos Bay. Discover the whitewashed lanes in Skopelos Town and the famous Agios Ioannis Chapel (of Mamma Mia! reputation). Feast on stuffed tomatoes at Ouzeri Anatoli, then see how the sunset paints the harbour in apricot tones. Tip: swim early at Kastani Beach to avoid noon throngs.

Sail southeast toward Skyros, where natural beauty meets myth. Dock in a fishing community with cobalt-blue boats, Linaria. Climb to the Byzantine Castle of Skyros, above Chora, a maze of cobblestone lanes with handicapped businesses. At a family-run taverna, savor goat stew and pay close attention for tales of old Achilles, who hid here under a female disguise. Go to the deserted island Kyra Panagia in the Marine Park. Anchor in Planitis Bay, where olive gardens lap against beautiful waves.
